The MicroNIR PAT-U can be used in an easy manner and was designed for the present-day demanding GMP-regulated environments; however it still needs marginal system maintenance. There are no moving components or expensive fiber optic cables, enabling excellent instrument stability and performance in challenging process environments. Its stainless steel exterior is water and dust resistant according to IP65 standards and cleans easily.
The user-friendly MicroNIR PAT-W was engineered to handle today's challenging GMP-regulated environments yet requires minimal system maintenance. There are no expensive fiber optic cables or moving components, enabling superior instrument stability and performance in challenging process environments. Its stainless steel/brushed aluminum case is water and dust resistant according to IP65/67 standards.
The PAT-Ux is the hazardous location version of the popular VIAVI PAT-U miniature process spectrometer. Safe in the presence of flammable gases, vapors, fibers, or dust, the PAT-Ux enables moving a process directly to production in a hazardous location using chemometric models and processes developed in the ordinary location of a laboratory. The PAT-Ux attaches readily to fixed processing equipment of all types and sizes, with the performance and stability to support truly efficient – and scalable – manufacturing.
The PAT-Wx is the hazardous location version of the popular VIAVI PAT-W wireless miniature process spectrometer. Its compact, lightweight design and automatic triggering function make it ideal for use on dynamic process equipment like tumble blenders. Since it is wireless and safe in the presence of flammable gases, vapors, or dust, the PAT-Wx is also suited to diverse process monitoring applications in hazardous environments. As a member of the MicroNIR product family, it enables moving a process directly to production in a hazardous location using chemometric models and processes developed elsewhere. The PAT-Wx integrates readily with process equipment of all types and sizes, with the performance and stability to support truly efficient – and scalable – manufacturing.
The MicroNIR PAT-L immersion spectrometer is based on the MicroNIR PAT-U process spectrometer, with design adaptations that include: y Full integration into a fixed gap immersion probe y High-efficiency light pipe design y Inert gas backfill eliminates water vapor interference and condensation y Hardwired USB cable for reliability y Optional removable cooling jacket The PAT-L is a fully integrated spectrometer-probe. The spectrometer section is rated IP65/IP67 and the immersion probe section is rated at up to 250 bar. Optical specifications are identical to the MicroNIR PAT-U and may be found on the PAT-U Data Sheet. The cooling jacket, with hose barb connections, allows coolant to circulate and maintain the spectrometer within its operating temperature range while the probe is in contact with hot fluids or in high ambient temperatures. Maximum working temperatures depend on the probe length and material and the coolant used. The MicroNIR internal temperature operating range is 0 to 50ºC. The PAT-L immersion probe section is based on the Hellma Excalibur HD FPT 26, a well-proven, heavy-duty industrial probe.
The MicroNIR OnSite-W is the latest addition to the VIAVI Solutions innovative, ultra-compact spectrometer product line. The MicroNIR OnSite-W is the smallest fully-integrated NIR spectrometer on the market and is enabled by proven VIAVI linear variable filter (LVF) technology. With no moving parts and IP65/IP67 dust/water ingress rating, it is designed for a wide range of material characterization applications in food, agriculture, pharmaceutical, and security markets.
The MicroNIR OnSite-W system includes the MicroNIR Pro software suite with features for data acquisition, calibration and method development, user management, and real-time prediction. Using MicroNIR Pro software, a developer can process data and build complete chemometric models using regression and classification algorithms including PLS, MBSD, SMV, and PCA analyses. Batch mode predictions on stored data are also supported.
MicroNIR Pro software also includes instrument performance qualification per EP 2.2.40 and USP 1119 test criteria and tools enabling Title 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. An enhanced OPC interface is optionally available for integration with process control systems. The OnSite-W system also includes a standalone tablet application with simplified user interface for data acquisition and real-time prediction in the field.

The VIAVI MicroNIR 1700EC is a lightweight and cost-effective near infrared (NIR) spectrometer that includes the VIAVI high-precision optical coating technology with innovation in optical system design and miniaturization.
By combining VIAVI linear variable filter (LVF) technology as the dispersing element, the spectrometer has a light source, collection optics, electronics, and LVF in a housing that measures less than 50 mm in diameter, less than 45 mm in height, and weighs only 64 g. The spectrometer is USB powered and can be used in diffuse reflection, transmission, or transflection modes.
A MicroNIR Pro package includes a number of accessories that either enhance ease-of-use or enable measuring with varied configurations that perfectly suit specific applications.
